Perennial Blooms
A Month-By-Month Guide To What Blooms When
Perennials are herbaceous plants that return year after year to deliver amazing color and long bloom cycles. Many are also excellent for pollinator gardening, and they look particularly striking when planted en masse! The tricky part is, different perennials do have different bloom times – and this can be confusing if you weren’t aware. No worries. If you love gardening with perennials, but you’re not quite sure what blooms when, scroll for a monthly sampling. It’s an easy way to curate a diverse, progressively flowering perennial garden for all-season color and attracting pollinators!

Lenten Rose
If you’re looking for an early-blooming, long-lasting perennial for the shade garden, look no further than Lenten Roses. Also called Hellebores, these beauties are one of the first plants to bloom, typically in March, and their blooms last into June! They form low mounds of leathery, dark, evergreen foliage, so they also provide fantastic winter interest. They are excellent deer-resistant plants and they draw early-season pollinators to the shade garden.
