ORDER ABORTION, DRUGS IS NOT OVER A BELOVED ANKENY SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHER IS BEING REMEMBERED TONIGHT. DREW WOLFE DIED SUDDENLY ON MONDAY. KCCI. PEPPER PURPURA TALKED WITH THE PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY MISS SEEING HIM ON THE SIDELINE AS. IF NO ONE CAME TO THE GAME, HE WOULD BE THE ONLY ONE CHEERING. AN AVID SPORTS FAN AND AN ARTIST, HIS ABILITY TO TO CAPTURE THE MOMENT AND GIVE SPECIAL KEEPSAKES TO PLAYERS AND FAMILIES AND COACHES AND OUR ADMINISTRATION IS SOMETHING THAT I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL FOR AT THE HIGH SCHOOL GAMES TO COME. ANKENY BASED PHOTOGRAPHER DREW WOLFE WILL BE MISSED. HE WAS AT ALMOST EVERY ONE IN HIM NOT BEING IN THE STANDS. IT’S A LITTLE DEPRESSING. WOLFE WAS KNOWN FOR HIS CONSTANT PRESENCE AT SPORTING EVENTS FOR ANKENY AND ANKENY CENTENNIAL AND OTHER NEARBY SCHOOLS. HE JUST ENJOYED BEING THERE. HE ENJOYED BEING AROUND THE PLAYERS AND THE COACHES WAS ALWAYS WHEN YOU SAW HIM ON THE SIDELINES, IT WAS ALWAYS SOMEONE THAT YOU WERE EAGER AND EXCITED TO SAY HI TO, AND HIS ABILITY TO CAPTURE THE MAGIC OF HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS, WHETHER IT WAS A SOCCER MATCH OR A BIG MOMENT IN A BASEBALL GAME THAT WE’VE SEEN OUT HERE, HE HE WOULD ALWAYS GET THE SHOT. BUT FOR THOSE WHO KNEW HIM, EACH PICTURE WILL ALSO HOLD A PIECE OF WOLFE’S SPIRIT. HE’D ALWAYS BE THERE WITH A PAT ON THE BACK AND I’M GOING TO MISS IT IN ANKENY. PIPER PURPURA KCCI EIGHT NEWS. The legacy of Drue Wolfe rang through the Hawks' field in Ankeny as the baseball team played Waukee for the first time since the beloved photographer passed on Monday.Wolfe was a sideline staple, present at most Ankeny, Ankeny Centennial and other area high school sporting events.
